Shu-Ping ChanShu-Ping Chan – Senior VP & General Counsel

Mr. Chan is the principal of the firm Law Office of Shu-Ping Chan, LLC, a Maryland based practice focusing on helping a select clientele to deal with issues relating to immigration, estate planning and general business needs.

Prior to establishing his law practice, Mr. Chan served over 12 years in federal, state and local governments in the areas of constituent service, community outreach, and developing and implementing policies and programs that affect diverse community residents.

He was with the Washington, DC office of U.S. Senator Joseph I. Lieberman of Connecticut, served as Executive Director of the Maryland Governor’s Office on Asian Pacific American Affairs under Governor Parris N. Glendening, and was a Community Outreach Manager for Montgomery County Executive Douglas M. Duncan.

Mr. Chan is a general partner in the international business firm MeiWah International Holdings, Inc., where he blends his government, business and legal experience to help develop trade between firms in the United States and countries in the Asia-Pacific Rim.

Mr. Chan along with a talented international team formed USAsialinks with the goal of linking our planet’s businesses and technologies to build a better world. Mr. Chan is a senior VP and serves as general counsel for USAsialinks.

Mr. Chan also provides pro bono training to a variety of clients that blends cultural awareness, Limited English Proficiency policy implementation, and legal and financial needs in today’s fast changing environment.

Mr. Chan holds a law degree and master’s of business administration degree (emphasis in finance) from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and a bachelor’s degree (major in East Asian Studies) from Columbia University in New York City. He is licensed to practice law in Connecticut, New York and Maryland, and also serves clients in Washington, DC and Virginia through Of Counsel relationships with firms and lawyers licensed in those jurisdictions.
