Aeroponic Agriculture
Aeroponic agriculture is a revolutionary technology which grows plants in a nutrient rich mist and eliminates the need for the traditional soil-based methods. The mist most efficiently provides the roots with nutrients, hydration and oxygen needed by the plant. This revolutionary method of agriculture solves many issues found in conventional agriculture. Since aeroponic systems are installed indoors, pest damage to crops will no longer need to be controlled through the use of pesticides. Due to the nature of our partners’ versatile indoor setup, there is no risk of crop loss due to weather disasters and lower transportation costs. This system can be setup in any location removing the risk of weather or temperature deviations. Since the plants can be suspended, any diseased plants can be removed before it can spread without disrupting other plants and allowing for higher density growth. Also the control and consistency of this method, it is able to produce a higher yield in a shorter period than conventional and greenhouse methods, while reducing water usage.
Compared to soil-based methods, aeroponics consumes significantly less water due to the aeroponic system’s direct application of nutrients to the roots. Our partners’ have developed a proprietary, reusable cloth medium. These systems employ cloth as a conveyor for plants from one end of the aeroponic system where they are seeded to the other end where they are harvested. Cloth has a number of benefits such as durability and re-usability, increased cleanliness and sanitation, and the efficient harvest of a dry and clean product. This technology will result in produce which requires no washing, has longer shelf-life, shorter growth cycle, lower water use, and higher yield than conventional methods.
Our partner’s system utilizes LED lightning which has a much higher life expectancy than standard HPS grow lights while also reducing energy consumption and being able to target specific wavelengths. In addition to the advantages of aeroponic farming, our partner’s system is very flexible and can be highly customized to our clients’ needs. This modular system can be arranged vertically or attached horizontally to accommodate your available floor space in a fast and efficient manner. Our partner’s technology has been successfully implemented in the US.
